Elwyn Murray

Elwyn MurrayElwyn Murray is a project-based visual artist making work about sex, death and the internet. Elwyn’s creative-practice includes engraved mirrors, glass, works on paper, and interactive installations. He explores how new communication paradigms are reshaping notions of identity, memory, relationships and sexuality.

Digital platforms have facilitated the global expansion of body-driven communities and the rise of celebrities within such scenes. These digital communities bring visibility and validation of diverse body-types, but along with that, a culture of self-commodification and alternative beauty ideals. During the Luminous Bodies residency Elwyn will explore the role digital platforms have in the celebration of diverse body-types, and how they effect our relationships with our own bodies.
